EasyTourney
Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 4, 2026
EasyTourney ("the App") is a single-elimination tournament manager for iPhone and iPad, developed by Filipe Rodrigues Oliveira ("we", "our", "us"). The App works offline by default, and also offers an optional online mode that lets you share a tournament so others can join or watch it. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected, how it is used, and your rights regarding that information.
1. Information We Collect
1a. Data You Create — Stored Locally by Default
When you use the App, you create tournaments and enter participant names. For tournaments you keep to yourself, this data stays on your device. It is stored in the app's local SwiftData database on your iPhone or iPad, we have no access to it, and it is not transmitted to any server. This changes only if you choose to share or join a tournament — see Online & Joinable Tournaments below.
1b. Online & Joinable Tournaments — Firebase Firestore & Authentication
The App lets you share a tournament (via a QR code or link) so other people can join it or watch it live. This online mode is optional and only active for tournaments you explicitly share or join — purely local tournaments are never uploaded.
When you create a shared tournament or join someone else's, the following is synced through Google Firebase Firestore so all participants and spectators stay in sync: the tournament name and settings, participant and team names (including any team member names), match results, scores and notes, your display name, and the host's display name.
To keep everyone's view consistent, the App signs in using Firebase Anonymous Authentication, which assigns a stable anonymous identifier to your device. There is no email, password, or account, and this identifier is not linked to your real identity. Note that any names you enter in a shared tournament are visible to the other participants and spectators of that tournament.
1c. Camera — QR Code Scanning
With your permission, the App uses the camera for a single purpose: to scan a tournament's join QR code so you can join it. No photos or video are taken, stored, or transmitted — the camera feed is used only to read the code on your device. You can decline or revoke camera access in iOS Settings; you can still join a tournament by opening its link instead.
1d. Reporting & Moderation
If you come across a shared tournament with an offensive name or inappropriate content, you can report it. Submitting a report sends us (via Firestore) the tournament's identifier, the reason you selected, your anonymous identifier, and a timestamp, so we can review it. Spectators can also remove a reported tournament from their device. We use this information solely to review and act on reports and to keep shared content appropriate for the App's audience.
1e. Analytics Data — Firebase Analytics
The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to collect anonymous usage events (e.g., tournament created, match resolved, app opened). This data is used solely to understand how users interact with the App and to improve it. No personally identifiable information (PII) such as names, emails, or participant data is included in analytics events.
Firebase Analytics may collect: device model, operating system version, app version, country/region (approximate), session duration, and in-app events. This data is aggregated and anonymised.
1f. Crash Reports — Firebase Crashlytics
The App uses Firebase Crashlytics to automatically report crashes and errors. Crash reports may include: device model, iOS version, app version, stack traces, and the state of the app at the time of the crash. Crash reports do not include your tournament data, participant names, or any personal information.
1g. Advertising — Google AdMob
The App displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob. The App does not request Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission and does not use your Advertising Identifier (IDFA). AdMob therefore serves non-personalised ads based only on contextual signals (app category, device language/region).
For users in the European Economic Area (EEA) and United Kingdom, the App presents a GDPR consent form (via Google's User Messaging Platform) on first launch. You may withdraw or update your consent at any time through the App's settings.
All ads are restricted to General audience content
(maxAdContentRating = .general), consistent with the App's 4+ age rating.

2. How We Use Information
- To operate and improve the App
- To diagnose and fix crashes and errors
- To understand aggregate usage patterns
- To display contextual advertisements
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for targeted advertising or build personal profiles.
3. Data Sharing
We share limited data only with the following third-party service providers, solely for the purposes described above:
- Google LLC — Firebase Authentication, Firebase Firestore, Firebase Remote Config, Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, and Google AdMob
All third-party services operate under their own privacy policies, linked above.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
Local tournament data lives on your device and is deleted when you uninstall the App or manually delete tournaments within the App.
For tournaments you share or join, the synced copy in Firebase Firestore is retained until the host deletes the tournament or the tournament's lobby lifecycle ends. As a spectator, you can also remove a tournament from your own device at any time. Moderation reports are retained for as long as needed to review and act on them.
Analytics and crash data is retained by Google according to Firebase's data retention policies (typically 2 months for Analytics, 90 days for Crashlytics).
5. Your Rights
GDPREEA & UK Users
If you are located in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data, and to withdraw consent for data processing at any time. For data held by Google (Analytics, Crashlytics, AdMob), you may submit requests via Google's Privacy Troubleshooter. For any other requests, contact us at the address below.
CCPACalifornia Residents
We do not sell personal information. California residents may request disclosure of any personal information collected by contacting us at the address below.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is rated 4+ on the App Store. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Analytics and crash reporting data collected via Firebase is anonymous and does not constitute personal data collection from children. AdMob is configured to serve general-audience ads only. Names entered in shared tournaments are user-provided and visible to other participants; if you share or join a tournament, please avoid entering personal information, and you can report any inappropriate content from within the App.
If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to delete it.
7. Security
Local tournament data is protected by iOS's built-in data protection on your device. When you share or join a tournament, its data is transmitted over encrypted connections and stored on Google's infrastructure. We rely on Google's industry-standard security infrastructure for online tournaments, authentication, analytics, crash reporting, and ad delivery.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
